I buy chocolate chips in bulk from Guitard (sp?) & they do have soy lethicin in them but I just ran out so I need to find an organic option.

I'm going to try & make mayo this week for my husband to get away from the soy bean oil in that.

I have been doing a little research on fabrics & what they are made of. It is pretty interesting with how few God-made (cotton, flax, wool, silk, bamboo & maybe a few more) & how many different combinations of synthetic fabrics are made plus all the dies & other treatments that are done to it. I don't really know if there is any problems with the manmade but I'm starting to wonder. Evy has had eczema & some type of itchy bumby rash (mostly behind her legs but also on her tummy & back) for a year & a half so I've questioned if it has something to do with the fabric that is always tuching her skin. Any suggestions for rash stuff? I've tried eliminating different food groups & changed detergent & soaps & it just comes & goes. I tried ...Doesn't it just give you a headache? I tried not to get overwhelmed, but confess that I didn't succeed. Thanks for the verse. It helps.

Answers: Soy, avoid unless it is cultured (tofu or that sauce that is cultured) and organic. If it is organic, it is not supposed to be GMO. The list is pretty inclusive.

Garden of Eatin' does not use GMO's and are pretty passionate about it. They make great chips. You can make your own, but you are right, they are labor intensive. We just try to find that brand on sale.

Any heirloom corn or organic is OK. For seed I use Baker Creek Heirloom seeds. They check every batch for GMO contamination.

Also, blue and white corn has not been genetically modified yet. Your parents could grow some white corn. Any heirloom plants are ok, and tomatoes are OK. They did try to modify them, but it just outright killed the lab rats right off the bat, so I guess that was a little much, even for Monsanto. There are some summer squash that is commonly used that is GM.

My hardest is Hershey, Ghiradalli, and other chocolate makers. That has been a little rough.

Then we watch an pray. Thanks much for reading it. This was such a heavy one. I have been researching it again. I limit myself to about every 6-8 weeks, then have to leave it. This post was really just my way to back away from the subject again. It grieves me.

Our hope comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth. We trust in Him.

CindyCindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12945038014634144038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3855830304354279442.post-60405057188902709652010-03-01T15:16:50.047-08:002010-03-01T15:16:50.047-08:00Uggh...I read through most of the articles you pos...Uggh...I read through most of the articles you posted & it does not sound good. Why can't we just be happy with the food that God made for us?

I was getting overwhelmed with the information (I'd been sort of avoiding this subject) but it's not good to be in the dark when it's something I'm putting into my body or my families. I read this verse today & it helped me calm down & take one thing at a time (as you say).

Exodus 23:25 "If you worship the Lord your God, I will bless your bread & your water. I will take away sickness from you."

Not to condone ignorance but to leave it in his hands, worship Him & do what I can do.

Question time: So there are the big 4- Corn, Soy, Canola & cottonseed. For corn & soy products do you try to avoid them all together or go with organic alternatives? Also my parents always plant a bunch of corn in their garden, can they buy organic seeds that are not GM or have not been contaminated? Are there other plants they need to avoid buying?

I have been switching to as much whole foods as possible & tortilla chips are one of the hard ones for our family to avoid (especially during the summer with fresh salsa). Have you ever made corn chips? I did cut & fry my ww tortilla chips in coconut oil the other day & they were good. Just time intensive, but what isn't if its made at home....Evelyn Fieldshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07475654137505973899noreply@blogger.com
