Hormone disruptors and potential problems

This post is because of the Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage all over the United States.  One thing that may have not been considered by many is the amount of hormone disruptors that pregnant women and babies are exposed to and potential consequences.  This entire post is geared to the potential damage to baby boys.  Baby girls also can have damage, but it is different damage.

This information is provided for purposes of risk assessment for families.  This was a short series that I did on Facebook.   I hope it is helpful.

#1 - Appropriate for this week. Not making judgments. Just providing information.
This study covers the problem of mercury exposure in male ibises.  It causes many odd behaviors in the Ibises population.  From the article:  "Birds exposed to any mercury displayed courtship behaviour less often than controls and were also less likely to be approached by females when they did. As the level of mercury exposure increased, so did the degree and persistence of homosexual pairing. Males that engaged in homosexual parings were also less likely to switch partners from year to year, which Frederick says ibises tend to do if they have been unsuccessful in mating during their first breeding season."

Some of the main mercury exposures in the United States today in utero: Amalgam fillings, vaccinations and fish consumption by mama.  Also, living downwind of a coalfired plant or exposure to medical waste.

Mama... be cautious of your little boys developing systems. Trace amounts of mercury from Mama during pregnancy can be damaging for a lifetime.

One of the main mercury exposures before a child is two years old is vaccinations.  Although it is supposed to have been removed from all childhood vaccinations, it is still listed as being in several in trace amounts.  Very, very tiny amounts are all that is necessary for endocrine disruption.

One of the other problems associated with permanently changed sexual tendencies in boys is unfermented soy, exposure either in utero or from formula.

Mercury causes homosexual behavior in male Ibises

#2 -  So... more on developing sexual tendencies. Soy. Again, I am not making judgments, just providing information that I hope you can use to make better risk/reward assessments for your family. I am sad if this information brings you sorrow, but not discussing it helps nothing. My apologies to mamas who could not breastfeed and to vegan mamas who use unfermented soy as a protein substitute. I promise that I am not targeting anyone. Really just giving information regarding homosexuality / vaccinations / heavy metal and other toxicity. Please note the aluminum issue with soy based formulas near the end of the article.

From the article: "Male infants are also adversely affected by phytoestrogens. Male babies undergo a testosterone surge during the first few months of life, when testosterone levels may be as high as those of an adult male.

During this period, baby boys are programmed to express male characteristics after puberty, not only in the development of their sexual organs and other masculinity traits, but also in setting patterns in the brain characteristic of male behavior. Flooding his system with female hormones during this time can have severe ramifications on his development, including potentially smaller testes and significantly reduced testosterone levels........

.........Nearly 20 percent of U.S. infants are now fed soy formula, but as demonstrated in the featured study, the estrogens in soy can cause serious long-term harm to your baby's sexual development and reproductive health. It's important to realize that feeding your baby soy formula is like giving her an estimated four to five birth control pills' worth of estrogen every day. Infants fed soy formula have up to 20,000 times the amount of estrogen in circulation as those fed other formulas!.......

......Aside from harmful endocrine disrupters, soy infant formula can also contain over 1,000 percent more aluminum than conventional milk-based formulas. Aluminum is a potent neurotoxin that has been implicated in the development of Alzheimer's disease and other brain disorders. According to a study in Pediatrics, the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics4:

"Aluminum is now being implicated as interfering with a variety of cellular and metabolic processes in the nervous system and in other tissues."

But that's not all. Many soy foods also have toxic levels of manganese. Soy formula contains up to 80 times more manganese than is found in human breast milk, and according to recent research, high concentrations of manganese can lead to brain damage in infants and altered behaviors in adolescents.5"

#3 - For those who wish to further study the soy danger issue, the following page has quite a few really interesting links.

Please do not think this information is a personal judgment on anything. It is just to arm families with appropriate risk/reward information as they navigate a toxic world.

Soy and reproductive issues with boys. To the church and to Christian families I want to gently, gently, GENTLY say.... the feminized boy in your class/family may be that way by choices mama made before, during and after pregnancy. Please love this child for who they are, not who you want them to be. Not every boy exposed to soy/heavy metals in utero / early childhood will become feminized.... but some of them will.

Be aware that mama's mercury laden fillings, fish and pregnancy vaccinations, other heavy metals in these products AND/OR soy and other hormone inhibitors may have permanently changed this boy before he was two years old. Please use this biological information as you deal with this topic that is so "in your face" to the Christian church in general.

Please note: I am not telling anyone what to do or think. I am not suggesting you walk away from scripture. I am suggesting that these boys were inherently changed before they could make any choice in the matter. Please take this information into consideration as you deal with these boys in your life.

From the article: "We now have an impressive body of work on the issue of phytoestrogens and male reproduction. These studies have spanned three generations and have taken into account both the human and the rat model of endocrine function. In summary, males exposed to genistein have a shorter ano-genital distance and testis size, and delayed preputial separation. Perinatal exposure to genistein also contributes to long-term dysfunction in reproductive behavior. Adult male rats exposed to genistein are less likely to mount, intromit and ejaculate during mating tests. Male rats exposed to genistein also have lower testosterone concentrations in adulthood. Perinatal genistein exposure resulted in transient and lasting alterations in masculinization of the reproductive system.
The best way to avoid complications in the reproductive health of male offspring is to avoid foods and chemicals that act as estrogen mimics. This starts with mothers, prenatally limiting their exposure to estrogen-containing products in their diets, from birth control pills and from other sources such as pesticides. During pregnancy, the mother’s diet should be quite restrictive of phytoestrogens and therefore of soy-based products. Once the child is born, the best form of nutrition which can be given to the child is breast milk. While breast feeding, mothers should continue to avoid birth control pills and soy foods. Most importantly, soy-based infant formula should be avoided. These formulas, despite common claims to safety, are dangerous to the reproductive health of the male infant.......

...... “We should be thinking at this point of our children and grandchildren. What are we going to tell them if they are sterile or have an altered sexual development?”27........

.......We owe it to our children to offer them the reproductive health that will allow them to have a normal sex life and to father children, simply by limiting amounts of organic estrogens in their diets. Above all else, we owe it to ourselves to be the best possible parents in truly caring for the future of our children by ensuring that our children, and therefore we, truly have a future."
